We understand that growth and success are only worth anything when our products, services and corporate initiatives benefit society and the world we live in.

In the last 45 years, our company has benefited customers, passengers, markets, governments, institutions and communities in a variety of ways.

Since they began operating, our E-Jets have changed the concept of regional jets and have become an essential tool for creating new routes, offering airlines new opportunities for adapting the size of their aircraft to the demands of specific markets, with lower operating costs per journey and greater passenger comfort.

• In Brazil, Azul Linhas Aéreas symbolizes how E-Jets are changing the way the world flies. Its strategy of operating our jets in secondary markets that offer lower fares, has enabled a part of the population that had never previously set foot in an aircraft to enjoy the experience of flying.

• Kenya Airways has employed the same strategy. With its growing fleet of E-Jets, it is today connecting the entire African continent through air travel that is accessible to more and more people. Every year, around 12 million people have the opportunity to travel by air for the first time.

• In 2009, in order maximize its revenues, Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) kicked off an ambitious modernization plan. Operational improvements included on-line ticket sales, web check-in and e-ticketing. The acquisition of our E190s has helped to transform the airline and, more important still, to change passengers’ perception in a positive direction. LAM also offers scheduled flights in its E-Jets to Beira, Pemba and Nampula, enabling easier access to the country’s main tourist destinations.

We help Brazil protect one of its greatest assets: its borders. In 2012, the Tepro consortium - made up of two companies controlled by Embraer Defense & Security, Savis and OrbiSat - was chosen to implement the first stage of the Brazilian army’s Integrated Border Monitoring System (Sistema de Monitoramento Integrado de Fronteiras, SISFRON). We supply latest-generation radar technology and advanced information and communications systems, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), for the implementation of the system that monitors 650 km of Brazil’s borders with Paraguay and Bolivia. The aim is to monitor all 16,886 kilometers of the country’s land borders by the end of the project.

We also employ technology in telecommunications. In order to meet the requirements of the National Broadband Program (Programa Nacional de Banda Larga, PNBL) and to increase the security of the Brazilian Armed Forces’ strategic communications, Visiona Tecnologia Espacial S.A., a joint venture between Embraer and Telebras, has been commissioned to assemble the Defense and Strategic Communications Geosynchronous Satellite (Satélite Geoestacionário de Defesa e Comunicações Estratégicas, SGDC), which will be delivered in 2016 and operated by Telebras and the Ministry of Defense.

We offer training and opportunities to people with disabilities who wish to join and grow in the labor market through the Route to Diversity program. With a duration of two years, the program benefits people with or without prior professional experience and, in its last cycle, it enrolled 100 apprentices, offering training to youths and adults with intellectual, physical, hearing or visual disabilities.

The initiative is a partnership with the School-Company Integration Center (Centro de Integração Empresa-Escola, CIEE) and the National Industrial Training Service (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial, SENAI). As an apprentice-training entity, CIEE is responsible for the process of selecting and preparing the candidates - who may opt for either the Administrative Duties or the Production Assistant courses - including guidance on subjects such as ethics, teamwork and the labor market. SENAI provides the technical training, focused on the profile of the company, offering professional qualification in Information Technology, Mechanics and Electrics.

In 2013, we received the São Paulo Seal of Diversity from the São Paulo State Government, by way of recognition for the work undertaken by the Route to Diversity program.
